Film Lab's 72 Hour Shootout Filmmaking Competition Informational and Networking Event Feb. 26
You are invited to the Film Lab's "Everything You Ever Wanted to Know about the 72 Hour Shootout" networking event! The annual 72 Hour Shootout filmmaking competition 2018 registration opens March 1st online atwww.film-lab.org! Past judges include the Executive Director of Casting for ABC Primetime and mentorships were given out to filmmakers by executives at ABC and NBC and much more! This is your opportunity to get your work out there, be seen and smash in some glass ceilings! Intrigued and want to know more? Come to a special hour-long Q&A with the Film Lab team to learn more about the Shootout and ask all your questions on Monday, Feb. 26th! Afterwards, network and create your own Shootout team!!

The events do take place in New York City so a lot of you won't be able to attend in person but never fear! We'll have live stream of every event possible so, if you have an internet connection, you can join in from anywhere in the world. AAFL welcomes Filmaker, Educator and Artist Tami Gold for our first Shootout Industry Spotlight of 2017, Rising Up Angry: Filmmaking for Social Justice. Tami will share clips and stories from two films: Every Mother's Son, about three women who lose their sons to police violence and unite for justice and change, and Puzzles, about a hate crime in a gay bar in Massachusetts and the correlation between American economic desperation and homophobia, intolerance, and, ultimately, violence.
