Gina currently serves as the Film Lab’s Social Media Content Creator Intern. A multidisciplinary creative, she is NYC-based and Houston-raised, relentlessly committed to championing and crafting authentically diverse, culture-affirming, and subversive storytelling that integrates innovation in both form and content. Gina is also a recent honors graduate of Rice University, where she studied English (with a specialization in Visual and Comparative Media) and Asian Studies.
Gina’s creative work spans development, research, and production, with experience at Lucasfilm Ltd., Disney Theatrical Group, FilmNation Entertainment, and on an upcoming Apple TV+ project. She has written and directed original documentaries, including The Sound of Silence, a feature-length film exploring Deaf aesthetic experiences in audio-visual art, and Eomma and Me: A Culinary Documentation of the Min Family, a short that delves into Korean American food heritage and memory. Deeply engaged with the AAPI community, Gina has also contributed extensively to the Houston Asian American Archive as an interviewer, and is a 2025 Azn Americana mentee.
Through storytelling, scholarship, and production, Gina is dedicated to amplifying marginalized voices and redefining narrative conventions across film, television, media, and the written word. As a biracial woman of color and a GODA, her advocacy for Deaf representation in entertainment is deeply personal, alongside a fierce commitment to cross-cultural narratives that boldly challenge the status quo. Eager to grow and learn from diverse communities, she remains steadfast in her mission to push boundaries and expand perspectives. With a passion for both narrative innovation and systemic change, Gina aspires to a producing or editorial role – developing, shaping, and overseeing creative projects from inception to screen or page.
