Jennifer Betit Yen

Jennifer Betit Yen is an actor, screenwriter, and producer known for her work on Nora from Queens (Comedy Central), The Flight Attendant (HBO Max), New Amsterdam (NBC), Royal Pains (USA), and Search Party (TBS). Her screenwriting and producing credits include Hey LadiesThe SOS SeriesMonsters Among UsLa La Land, and The Opposite of a Fairy Tale.

In recognition of her contributions to acting and activism, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio officially proclaimed May 9, 2019, as Jennifer Betit Yen Day.[2] Her work has been highlighted by The New York TimesBroadway World, and Backstage Magazine.

Jennifer’s film The Opposite of a Fairy Tale, a powerful narrative on elder abuse, premiered to a sold-out audience at MOCA and was an official selection at prestigious events, including the 39th Annual Asian American International Film Festival, the Palm Springs Desert Film Society, and the SAG-AFTRA Foundation NY Shorts Showcase. It also screened at the NYC Conference on Elder Abuse, WOMANKIND, and with HBO, and is now available on iTunes.

A graduate of Cornell University and Boston University School of Law, Jennifer spent six years in business litigation before fully embracing her passion for acting and the use of entertainment media creation as a vehicle for positive social change. She is currently starring in a new television pilot, writes the blog “Ethical is Beautiful. Be Beautiful,” and enjoys boxing, hiking with her dog and creating delicious vegan meals.
